RUSSELLVILLE - Viola Gladys Evans, 79, of Russellville, died in Golden Manor Nursing Home at Ladoga Sunday morning after a short illness. She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Russellville, past matron of Order of Eastern Star, past president of the Parke County Federation of Clubs and Parke County Coral Club. Born Aug. 31, 1896, she was a daughter of James N. and Carolina Summers Long. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Kandrac of Indianapolis; a son, Dale of Waveland; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Robert Huffman of Indianapolis. Her husband, Earl, and son preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in United Church of Christ at Russellville with the Rev. Leo Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at McGaughey &Son Funeral Home. In memory of the two grandsons, memorials may be given to the Don Evans Memorial Fund at Wabash College or the Mitchel-Evans-Kandrac Memorial Fund at the University of Illinois. - jlr
